"History told by icons" is a series of three collages based on my somewhat critical view of the modern image culture, which is nothing more than the primacy of the image created by the media over the word and all kinds of cultural expressions outside what is shown in the media as media spectacle. For this I take as references, elements and icons of beauty from Ancient Egypt, a culture based on the cult of the image. I use as a protagonist the black woman, a common thread and seal of my artistic discourse and an icon of modern beauty. Through the superimposition of images that digital work offers me, I question what is "fashionable or not" and the sense of appropriation that this culture has, which is constantly changing. I am not only based on the image culture from fashion, I am also interested in ideologies, studying lifestyles and social groups, where social networks have become the most effective means to bring these contents to the masses.
