Haze-04 was created for the Tribute to Herbert W. Franke, the 1960s computer art pioneer and science fiction author. It is part of a series of four compositions paying homage to his rich and immense creative career.

The algorithm that was used to generate this image is based on the use of a sequence of pseudo-random numbers whose initialization is done using a particular number called the "seed". For this work, the seed was generated from the title of one of the first novels "Die Stahlwüste (1962)" by Herbert W. Franke.

50% of the primary sales will be donated to ZKM Karlsruhe that will help digitize Herbert W. Franke’s 1.800 manuscripts and make them publicly available.
