Inktense's character is defining in the technique: the paint, which is drawn like a pencil when dry and becomes saturated like ink when water is applied, brings together both clear contour lines and fluid, watercolor-like transitions on the same surface. The vertical forms in the background are rendered with thin, dry lines, while the shadows of the fabrics are painted with wet, dense passages.
