Description
The Grimsters series frames the mask as a vessel where entertainment and horror converge, a distorted heir to both carnival comedy and funerary effigy. By reducing the face to enamel, void, and echo, the works disclose how cultural icons erode into skeletal caricatures. They are not portraits but terminal symbols—expressions hollowed out until they reveal only the machinery of dread.
This third Grimster surfaces in chrome-black, its grin fused to a skull-like cavity beneath a pale crown. The eyes are vacant apertures, registering neither gaze nor refusal, yet the mouth gapes as if rehearsing a laugh that cannot be voiced. Testimonies liken it to a reliquary of silence: parody calcified, spectacle reduced to bone.
