Description

The final piece!

This series was inspired by the Glitch Art piece "Σ ADVENTURE" by the artist thisisgonz

I never heard about Glitch Art before seeing this work, but I am fascinated by all things digital and wanted to see if I could capture the qualities of Glitch Art by using my handspun and hand dyed yarns.

There are so many moments in the creation of a fiber art piece that are beautiful but if you only look at the work when it's finished, you might not get to appreciate those fleeting moments.

I created these NFTs as a way to pause and admire these moments together. In this way, we can celebrate the creation process in addition to the product.

This series allows you to examine how the piece changes as it evolves by adding more layers, yarns, colors and textures.

This NFT captures the culmination of my idea, how to take a Glitch Art piece and turn it into a fiber art performance piece. The base fabric was created using handspun and hand dyed yarns woven, embroidered, and embellished with wool by needle felting. To full realize my idea, I took a hair dryer and suspended discarded threads from the weaving over the piece and, using a hair dryer, created movement with the threads.

I hope this piece makes you as happy viewing it as it did for me while I was creating it ❤️

Materials: Hand dyed yarns stretched on a loom, embroidered, felted & recorded and edited.
