Geocite is a procedural generator that creates rocks shaped by GeoCities websites before Yahoo shut them down in 2009. Mirroring geologcal formation of sedimentary rocks, a geocite’s layers are shaped by hashings from crawled GeoCities websites.

This collection contrasts the stone, a solid substance representing deep time, the unimaginably greater time scale of geologic events, to that of the internet, constantly in flux and adaptive. Both carry with them the physical and psychic data of our existence.
