In collaboration with master bug photographer, Joshua Coogler, I’ve crafted this animated NFT using one of his distinctive macro closeup photos of a frighteningly scary ant face, which looks rather otherworldly and might produce nightmares you’ll never forget.

The magnification required to capture the full focus of these freaky creatures at such close range requires Coogler to shoot from 30 to 300 separate photos of each insect with sequential photos each set to progressive focal lengths. Then with a focus stacking post-production technique, he combines multiple frames to create the final tack-sharp image of awesome sharpness and depth, each eliciting varying degrees of spine-chilling creepiness.
