RED: Don’t vote. They don’t care about you. It’s all the same party. An oligarchy. “Democracy” and “choice at the polls” is just a trap to pit us against each other so we don’t fight against them. Don’t vote.
WHITE: Democracy is an illusion of choice to keep us in our place.
BLUE: You’re already fucked, you just don’t know it yet. Just wait. You’ll see. It’s coming. It’ll hit you so hard.

New York-based GenX artist GAWD (b. 1977, Pennsylvania) grew up influenced by the work of Haring and Warhol and the politics of punk/hardcore music. With roots creating graffiti in the late 1990s followed by the Lowbrow Art movement - published in 2012 alongside other Pop Surrealist digital artists - GAWD adopted the pseudonym in 2014 creating evocative work that brings the street to the studio (and now the blockchain) through paint, typography, pop imagery, and punk sensibility. GAWD's repurposing of highbrow fashion, luxury, and images of power colliding with snarky lowbrow typography fuels bold, brash social commentary with a nihilistic bent. Each work challenges us to question ourselves, the world around us, and our place in it.
