The "Alphabetic Signs" series finds its roots in different places: in my physical work, in a study on letters and typefaces, but also in graffiti and street art.

In this project I used the 31 ancestral signs already encoded and I have evolved the algorithm for arranging symbols with the use of fractals. I worked to create a torn paper effect and I used this element to "balance" the fractal. I have called this element "fracture", as it represents a break.

Fractals create a visual continuity between the elements, in a loop that recalls itself "to infinity" in smaller and smaller underlying elements. The fracture is a symbol of discontinuity as opposed to the fractal itself. This duality is a reference to the balance of Yin and yang.

This work uses p5.js library.
