ARTIST CURATED - 200 ITERATIONS

This series investigates the accumulation of distinct visual states within a single frame. Rather than conflicting, these opposing elements — vaporous gradients and hard-edged strata, open negative space and dense pixel noise — coexist in a state of suspended tension.

My process in creating this work involved an inherent push-and-pull: an attempt to conjure the tactile and fluid qualities of traditional media through code, while simultaneously highlighting the unmistakable artifacts of its digital origin. By introducing fine-line moiré patterns over painterly textures, the work creates a vibration that is less about mathematical randomness and more about simulated tactility.

The resulting fluidity suggests a moment of release — where the unraveling of tightness is left open to the viewer's interpretation.

Inspiration: The work is grounded in the observation of physical flow and sensory crossover. It draws specifically from the synesthetic colour harmonies of Georgia O'Keeffe’s Music — Pink and Blue No. 1 (1918), the stratified, geological textures of Matt Deslauriers' Meridian, and the viscous, accidental topography found in a bar of watercolour-technique soap handcrafted by my wife.

Technical & Process Note: This series was created using algorithmic generative code (JavaScript/p5.js). While I utilized AI-assisted tools for code completion and specific mathematical functions — as well as to help polish the text above — the core artistic vision, project structure, and creative direction are entirely human-led. The title, inspiration, and final interpretation remain solely my own.
