My work is not a "collage", but a concept of "Bricolage" advocated by French anthropologist Claude Levi-Strauss. "Bricolage" means to reassemble known things together in a place that deviates from the original meaning and discover new things. The Bricoleur's goal is to collect and recombine the images that are all over the Internet, and to transform them into a new form that has a new meaning without the original meaning. I believe this is the modern "Bricolage". This work is inspired by the image of "a moth flying in the urban night sky.” I tried to express it as if it were organic like a mechanic. The figure wearing a gas mask to avoid inhaling its own poisonous scales expresses our current situation on earth. (A situation in which we have to protect ourselves from toxic chemicals produced by ourselves.)
