This large charcoal drawing by Leo Crane is one of four concept artworks for L’amour rebelle, the first-ever live opera NFT. Here we see the Rebel Bird ("l'oiseau rebelle"), the personification of sexuality: fierce and wild - tame it at your peril!

L'amour rebelle explores sexuality and conflict by reimagining Georges Bizet’s classic opera Carmen. It premiered with a live performance and animated projections in Los Angeles on 29 March 2022.
