Description

"Kue Lumpur" (mud cake) was first introduced by the Portuguese when they colonized Indonesia in the early 16th century. Mud cakes are inspired by Portuguese cakes called pasteis de Nata also known as custard. "Custard" is a mixture of milk and egg yolk. The mud cake ingredients are adapted to those in Indonesia. "Kue Lumpur" is one of the market snacks in Indonesia. This cake is included in the "Kue Basah" category (wet cake) which means it cannot be stored for too long. The texture of the mud cake is very soft.

There are several types of mud cakes in Indonesia. One of the inspirations for this 3d food artwork is the pumpkin paradise mud cake. This mud cake consists of two layers: a yellow and white layer.

  • The yellow layer consists of wheat flour, coconut milk, pumpkin, eggs, sugar, salt, and vanilla powder.
  • The white layer consists of coconut milk, rice flour, cornstarch, sugar, salt
