A collaborative piece manifested by _paperspace and Shabbir Degani in an attempt to manifest the mediation of fashion through the lens of elegant minimalism.

[ O B S I D I A N ] is the 3rd piece of the collection. This monochromatic piece is characterized by the deep contrast between the subject and the armor cladding. A shell over a delicate interior, yet the expression suggests a stalwart heart.

Spikes on the exterior signify protection, as the warrior's gaze is the only hint in this piece that is still human. The otherworldly and highly intricate armor is empty, soulless, akin to an abyss. The pale face of the human suggests a state of mind - of duty, of perhaps facing an inevitable doom. An uneasy tension, a forced harmonization between the mind and the body. A confrontation of one's fate.

And this fateful contrast is played out in black & white - and nothing more.
