Brief hours of ashy daylight are followed by endless nights. Muted blue and dusty green all blur into the murky darkness, each step you take through it feels slow, like trying to walk underwater. Am I the only one who’s feeling this? Has anyone else noticed the lights go out? Do they miss the warmth? The delicate patterns of sunlight on their cheeks and arms, blood vessels glowing red through thin translucent skin. Or is everyone else locked inside their own minds and we all aimlessly move here at the bottom of the ocean, unable to communicate our pain, too burned out to even try. I don’t ask.
