The droyds are a collection of, well, droids. Each individual droid occupies a 48 x 48 pixel canvas and no to are the same. Traits like facial symmetry, number of eyes, color palettes and more have all been varied to ensure each droyd has its own unique look and personality. The design of the droyds takes inspiration from retro sci-fi properties like Star Wars and Fallout, to name a few. Additionally, they also aim to invoke pareidolia in the viewer, and to push the boundaries of what separates random geometrical or mechanical shapes from something that can instantly be recognized as a face.
