"Within a dreamlike state" is a generative art series created by Danielle Navarro. Pieces in this series are soft and reflective, with grainy transitions between states, and hints of an underlying geometric structure. The mood in the series is intended to be unfocused and calming, capturing the moments of gentle but not disruptive changes we occasionally experience in our lives. Code is written in C++ and R, and implements an iterative function system using the fractal flame algorithm described by Scott Draves in 1992. The palettes are generated algorithmically from a curated collection of 150 four-tone palettes in a custom R package.
