Broome photo: Captured in Broome of Western Australia, this unique stretch of coast called James Price Point is well known for its strikingly vivid combination of colours and unique cliff formations.

I took a 4WD to get to this secluded coast just before sunset. The moment I arrived, I immediately noticed the looming red cliffs and green foliage lit up in an otherworldly glow. I made my way close to the cliffs to take my drone up and what I saw left me in total awe. The towering cliffs when seen from above had the most unique rock formations I've ever seen, it almost felt like I had stepped foot on Planet Mars! It was a moment in time I’ll never forget.

The edit: This composite was inspired by the surreal landscape of Broome. I wanted to create a scene straight out of a science fiction story. Combining Merr’s photograph with a few of my own, I created a scene where a large planet sat over the horizon of this Mars like landscape.
