DOUBTS With this series I embark on an introspective journey leading into the uncertainties of the creative mind and the relentless quest for meaning within my art. “Doubts” emerges from a period of deep research and self-reflection while facing how an iterative process raises too many questions in the middle of creation. In generative art, I feel that the place of “doubt” is quite present. One of the advantages of this practice is to be able to generate tons of outputs during the same day. Your brain sees so many things from the same algorithm, that, sometimes, the next steps become blurry. One night, you can be sure of what you want to do, and the next morning only questions remain. Each piece in this series is a vivid tableau of unresolved queries and looping thoughts, where answers shift and evolve constantly. The artworks are layered with colors and forms that evolve and interact dynamically, challenging you, the viewer, to question your perceptions and engage in deeper self-reflection.
The compositions are intentionally unsettling, with intrinsic elements designed to disrupt the usual comfort of each other. This collection does not shy away from a darker side of my work; instead, it embraces and represents it, inviting you to find the beauty in life’s uncertainties. I convey doubt not merely as a barrier but as an essential, invigorating part of the creative process… Or at least mine?
Linking back to my earlier series "Foundations" and "Tout trace," which explored themes of growth and evolution, "Doubts" is touching upon the psychological challenges encountered along this creative odyssey, such as the constant negotiation between doubt and certainty; filled with insecurities and a relentless pursuit of (a certain) artistic truth.
This series is a mirror of my current state of mind; full of questions and looking for answers: what kind of artist I am? How can I define myself? Where do I want my journey to lead?
By sharing these questions with you, the viewers, I invite you to join me on this exploratory journey. This series is an opportunity for us to embark together; and perhaps find clarity not despite but through the ambiguities and trials we encounter.
