Description
For so long I stayed protected, sealed within walls I built carefully and well, walls that kept out pain and betrayal, but also joy, love, and every feeling that asked me to be open. Inside them, nothing could reach me, and nothing could leave. It was safe there. Quiet. Untouched. But safety has a way of becoming a kind of silence,. And silence, if you live in it long enough, begins to feel like absence.
Now the walls are breaking. Maybe their purpose has been fulfilled. What they guarded is still here, soft, luminous, alive beneath the stone.
I think I’m ready to feel again.
