Description

We know what the raw hex version of Satoshi Nakamoto's Bitcoin genesis block code looks like. But what does it 'sound like'?

'Decryption : Bitcoin Genesis Block Code Audiovisual Mapping' is a digital cymatics project which exhibits the sonic and audiovisual mapping of the code.

There are three versions of the piece. [Ver.1] is black and white. 0 and 1. [Ver.1] has an original and electronic sound spectrum.

Inspired by Chinese musical notation system, every number and letter in the code is paired to a note in C Major. C is 1,1 is C.

The piece -so the code- is divided into three layers: The left column of the code as a base, the numbers and the letters. Nothing is edited or added.

The code reveals the music, the music reveals the visual.

To process and export direct-image-data of the piece, an audio reactive trail map is created. Also the code is simultaneously highlighted along the piece. With this autogenous and solid audio/visual spectrum output, the primary inclination of the artwork to create a conceptual chain between art and data, is preserved.

Executed in Studio B166ER, Istanbul.
