Original in-game loop from the 1981 video game “deAth rĪDes the wĪrĒs” (30 fps)

In 1981 the Portland, Oregon company Sinneslöschen came on the video game market in an extremely stealth fashion. They only released two games in very limited numbers, and both of those games disappeared in under one month, never to be seen nor played again.

Those games were the now legendary “Polybius”, and the lesser known “deAth rĪDes the wĪrĒs”. This latter game came in three unique cabinets: “terror”, “haunt” and “doom”. These machines caused mass frenzy, then addiction to the point of possession, followed by absolute hysteria. Then suddenly all these machines disappeared. They simply ceased to exist, as if they never were. But they most certainly were. And now again, they are. Three of these original vintage machines have been discovered, along with a covertly sourced original in-game loop from this 1981 video game, though it appears to be glitched and running on an alternate level.
