From damnatio memoriae, the Roman sentence of oblivion: a person struck from every image and inscription, condemned to be forgotten. In this iteration the erasure arrives not in dread or grey absence but in bloom - waves of blush, rose and hot pink flooding the portrait until the face begins to dissolve into its own sweetness.
