Description

First and foremost, this work is an attempt by an artist who hates every concept, every image that evokes death, and all the dark narratives woven around it, to confront her own perception of death and the representations of death that have been established for centuries; to challenge them and to attempt to give death a new meaning.

This Ghost is an interactive body capable of moving against the traditional image of death: an 85-centimeter skeleton, yet a carrier not of darkness, but of color.

The Ghost has been created from more than 1,000 unique pieces of paint created using specialized techniques that cover its surface. None of them is the same in form or tone. Each one is the trace of a memory, a question, a wound, a feeling, a lesson, an encounter, or a transformation.. Just as what constitutes a human being is not a single story, but countless experiences accumulated one upon another..

Chromatic Dream.. is the first and most successful result of an obsession that the artist Su has had for years, through countless experiments. At home, using harmless chemicals according to general application methods, she finally achieved a professional mirror reflection. And she turned her Ghost into a mirror. Thus, the work does not only reflect itself; it also includes the person standing before it within its own ontology…… In this way, death here ceases to be an ending; it becomes the reflection we leave behind on those who remain alive..

At the same time, the artist may possibly have achieved something for the first time in the world using the pieces of paint on this Ghost. Partial and gradient chrome has been applied to paint pieces this small. This has made the entire Ghost even more unique. (-a patent application has been filed.)

But what is inside the Ghost is more complex than what is outside……

The mind of the Living Colorful Ghost:

Going deep is dangerous. It is forbidden.
Because a human being does not know what they will find at the bottom of their own mind..

When the skull is opened, the depths of the mind become visible. In the depths of holographic letters, colors, questions, answers, brushstrokes, and fragments of glass representing thought, a diver appears, searching for meaning….

The diver is the representation of a consciousness that continually descends deeper into the mind, searching for meaning not on the surface, but within the dark layers of thought.

Because the mind is made up not only of what we think, but also of what we remember, what we cannot forget, what we suppress, and what we try to make sense of.. Wish the Diver luck, the work is difficult..

Because a person may believe they know themselves on the surface.

But when they descend into their own depths, they see how fragile and changeable all the definitions they have constructed about themselves can be..

The mind is the place where a human being is reborn within themselves endlessly.. just like the heart.

The heart of the Living Colorful Ghost:

The heart never accepts separation..

Because for the heart, love is not dependent on the condition of existence.

But sometimes separation and longing become so heavy that the heart no longer fits inside the rib cage. That is why the Ghost has allowed its heart to become a flying balloon.

The Ghost’s flying-balloon heart drifts through the air with the wind, its string still tied to its wrist.

This string is not the fine line of possession, but the fine line of love. Because sometimes loving means not holding on, but being able to let go..

As the Ghost releases its heart to the wind with the pain of separation, it takes with it the final wound that will never close.
The miniature repairman is not trying to repair the wound; he is only helping to keep it from opening any further.

Because sometimes the heart can reach the purest form of love only when it learns to let go..

Waiting:

Inside the throat, behind a window, there is a woman screaming: the place where the unsaid are kept within the body.

Inside the rib cage, there is a bench, a pigeon, and a woman waiting beneath her favorite tree; while the firefighter approaching her from outside points to an invisible fire that is still being fought, still being put out.

All these pieces touch one another within the Ghost, not as separate stories, but as layers of the same body that carries human existence. The mind deepens, the heart attaches and lets go, the throat keeps what cannot be said, and the rib cage carries waiting and invisible fires. From the outside, there is only a skeleton; inside, however, there is a living universe made of memories, wounds, questions, longings, and transformations.

Color is the language of the Ghost’s existence. Although divided into thousands of pieces, each piece preserves its own form and its own tone. None of them is identical to another. Perhaps a human being is the same: what makes us who we are is not how much we resemble the world, but how vividly we can keep the color that belongs to us alive within ourselves.

For this reason, the Ghost does not merely stand against the established image of death; it also stands against everything that forces a human being to give up their own color. Time, loss, fear, expectations, the gaze of others, the roles imposed upon us, or the darkness that life leaves upon us does not have to erase the color we carry within.

It is not a coincidence that it gives our own reflection back to us through its chrome surface. The Ghost includes everyone who looks at it among these colors and quietly reminds them:

Keep your own color. Do not hide it. Do not let it fade. Do not let anything, or anyone, turn you into a color other than your own.

Because perhaps the most original trace a human being can leave in the world is to preserve their own color forever, while also being able to add color to the worlds of others.

And that is precisely why the Ghost continues to live: Its colors are still touching one another, changing one another, and multiplying one another. The body that was once expected to be nothing more than a skeleton has now become life itself.

Stay colorful, human, Stay colorful, world.

With love, Su
