This collection of 100 unique editions, taken as a whole, is my entry to Claire Silver's AI Contest #6.

This Long-Form AI collection is an exercise in variations on a theme. I've always admired the stoic impulse to create the same painting repeatedly in order to find something elemental and ideal; to attempt to approach perfection knowing that it's a futile task. Long-Form AI gives me the power to exercise that idealistic stoicism, and in this case I'm using it to paint 100 portraits of the anonymous Claire Silver.

The original init image for these paintings comes from a single frame of the self-portrait video in Claire's contest announcement post, which I've run through various algorithms of mine in EmProps OpenStudio. The first took this single frame and generated dozens of pseudo-photographic outputs in the style of my Utopian portraits. Then I rigorously tested those outputs as inits for various versions of my AI painting prompts, until I arrived at a few that work pleasingly well. And finally it was time to publish these recursive outputs as a Long-Form collection.
