Description

“bloom” is made up of three main layers. The first is a color field made of a fine grid with gradient colors. The second is a plant-like shape that utilizes multiple Bezier curves. I attempted to generate a dynamic composition with this irregular shape. The third is a modeling that overlaps multiple split circles. The gradually enlarging circles are rotated and overlapped to create an ambient ”blooming" effect.

I went to see an exhibition of ambient works by Brian Eno in Kyoto, Japan in 2022. And incidentally, I went to Chishaku-in Temple to see the wall paintings(Shoheki-ga 障壁画) of Hasegawa Tohaku and his son, Hasegawa Kyuzo, who died at a young age. These viewing experiences were the inspiration for this work, which is envisioned to be displayed either on a horizontal screen or on multiple vertical screens arranged horizontally like Fusuma-e and Byoubu-e.

For the same screen size, some color variations will change, but the output will be identical. A prototype of this work was exhibited at CAWA tokyo 2022. This is my first work on fxhash. 2022 Oct 13.
