AI tribute album cover for Nine Inch Nails' never-released ‘BLEEDTHROUGH’ album.
The 2005 Nine Inch Nails album WITH_TEETH was originally going to be called BLEEDTHROUGH. An entirely different set of design work was created for this album. We know this because on March 8, 2013, the official Tumblr account for Nine Inch Nails re-blogged a post made that same day by Rob Sheridan (who was the art director for Nine Inch Nails when WITH_TEETH was released) that included 10 images related to the BLEEDTHROUGH album: the album cover itself, followed by 9 other images that, presumably, would have been used as part of the related packaging and/or marketing.
The original album cover had the suggestion of a feather in its design. In honour of that, the AI prompt for “BLEEDTHROUGH 4” included the phrase “feathers breaking glass.”
This tribute image is a Photoshop composite of multiple VQGAN iteration outputs from the same run, which were combined in a Best of Breed fashion to create this novel, imagined album cover for a record that was never released. It was minted for the #TezBattle celebration.
No input images used. Typography curated separately.
Style used in prompt: “in the style of Ansel Adams and Frank Miller”
