Description

It was a combination of strong rain and power outage when Pepe heard that faint meowing one evening. He had rushed out of the house to buy medicine for Payapa, his little girl. But he couldn't see where the sound was coming from with the noise of the cars that swept by the busy street of Don Antonio along with the splashing of water.

As he walked towards his car, the meowing grew louder and louder. He finally checked under the car and there they were, a pair of green eyes looking back at him.

Hokusai's The Great Wave is the perfect metaphor in portraying this life changing occurrence in Midnight's rescuing as he will never live off on the streets again.

And him being found outside a famous drugstore whose logo is Hermes, the most clever of the Olympian gods, and served as messenger of al of them? This is just the cherry on top. His caduceus is said to be the symbol of peace. Maybe this is peace in Midnight's life. Maybe this is his fate.
