The Giant Wood-rail (Aramides ypecaha) can be found along marshes and rivers in areas of Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay and Argentina. There is not much information about its diet, but it has been seen eating snakes, insects, larvae and snails. When these birds come together, they can start a surprisingly powerful chorus of screams, shrieks and wheezes.
