Biomorphica explores the interrelationship between humanity, technology and the natural world, probing the boundaries demarking artificial from natural, human from the posthuman.
Working across a variety of mediums, including AI, photography, and digital painting, the artist creates a parallel universe inhabited by hybridised forms and bizarre anthropomorphic creatures, with both mythological and post-modern features. Expanding on the notion of mutation, biomorphic forms and organic structures derived from animals and plants, are merged with posthuman forms—cyborgs and extended bodies, evoking the peculiarities of femininity that transcend into monstrosity.
By portraying a hallucinatory future evolution of the human body, the series challenges our perception of the corporeal form and questions the contemporary pursuit of a utopian body through augmentation and experimentation.
