Colin Goldberg Ashe Street Composition #2 (NFT), 2015-2022 1/1 NFT. Digital still image.
This 1/1 NFT is the on-chain counterpart for a 30x22 inch hand-painted unique work on paper. The work combines a hand-painted gouache ground with digitally-drawn forms that were projected onto the painted surface and hand-drawn with a rollerball pen.
The piece was created during a month-long artist residency at The Studios of Key West in 2015. It was exhibited in a solo exhibition at The Studios of Key West at the end of the residency entitled "Techspressionism: Works on Paper" that was featured on the PBS show "Art Loft".
Goldberg coined the term "Techspressionism" as the title of a solo exhibition in Southampton, NY in 2021. Techspressionism was first referred to as a movement in the 2015 WIRED article "If Picasso Had a MacBook Pro". Goldberg is a recipient of grants from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation and the New York State Council on the Arts.
