Description

I was hanging out with my son and he said look, pointing up at the skylight. I jokingly said, "Looks like art".

My son laughed and said, "That's bird poop Dad!".

I responded, "Maybe I should take a photo of it."

Again, my son laughed and said, "I bet you couldn't sell that for 10 cents, max 50 cents!".

It did make me wonder, could I sell it? What makes something art? I think it's something that comes from within the artist and not from the tools, medium or subject matter. It's the artist's vision that can transform bird poop into art, not the fact that bird poop or photography is art in and of itself.

So I took a photo, adjusted the colors/levels, and cropped it. For me it captures that moment of connection with my son and my intent is to show that art is of the artist and nothing else.
