Blowing air into a balloon is one of the simplest gestures that allows the breath moving inside the body to expand outward. The breath leaves the body without disappearing; it creates a new interior held within a thin membrane. Since the beginning of existence, the spherical structures that carry life, eggs, the cosmos, the universe have existed as interwoven spaces, and each breath reconnects the human to this continuity. In ancient narratives, breath appears as a gesture that opens a brief field of vitality within stillness. This movement carries early traces of a desire to reach beyond one’s own boundaries. Today, breath circulates not only through natural cycles but also through the channels and infrastructures that shape contemporary environments. In the installation, the participant activates the sensor with their breath. As long as the breath continues, the video becomes visible; when the breath ceases, the system returns to standby. This encounter creates an atmosphere in which different states of existence momentarily come together through breath within a shared space.
This artwork is designed to become an interactive installation. When paired with a physical sensor, the piece can react to real-world input by triggering one of several videos to play. For example, a work could change when you touch it, when a shadow passes over it, or when it hears a sound.
