Boids is an algorithm meant to simulate artificial life. Individual boids flock and flow with each other to create convincing groups of creatures.

In "Art That Explores its Space" the boids are what create the digital painting. Their paths are not erased by P5, and instead are celebrated. The paintings change over time and are infinitely durational.

The algorithm takes place in a three-dimensional space and actually exists in a two-dimensional p5 canvas. The X and Y values are the same, with the container being the width of the viewport. The size of the circles varies according to the Z position of the boids.
