Description
This was an original oil painting of Vic Stadter from Leakey, Texas.
Vic Stadter was America's most beloved smuggler. From running from truant officers at an early age to federal prison to international fame. He was never at a loss for new things to try and never stopped to consider the consequences. Several books have been written of his exploits and the 1975 hit movie "Breakout" starring Charles Bronson was based on Vic's role in a daring escape from a Mexican prison. This painting was used for the cover of the book written about him called "A Snowball in Hell: Smuggler's Tale."
