Stereograms work like the Japanese magic eye : You have to focus beyond the image to make the 3D star appear in the picture. This even works on any screen. These arrays allow you to work on parallel vision. You place two points above the board and when the third virtual point appears you move your gaze down and the board opens up in depth and lets the star appear which follows the pattern specially designed for the board.
