Description

Arapuá (Trigona spinipes), known by the name arapuã, irapuã, irapuá and aripuá, is a Brazilian stingless bee, from the meliponini tribe, with a shining black color. Its name, derived from Tupi 'eírapu'a' (round honey), makes reference to the shape of your hive.
