This collection of 10 works is the culmination of the year, as well as a snapshot of the current state of the technology. These are a jump-off point for what’s to come. The way these pieces were produced is what I call a “narrative on the fly” approach. The process always starts with compiling images, getting them to move silently, and then letting a narrative emerge. I try to avoid overthinking it. I often use imagery that may look dissimilar from the outside, but I see a connection. The trick is to make the footage seem as if it belongs together—the addition of dialogue and narration makes this possible.
