A speculative tale of which Vatican City, as the smallest country is dealing with increasing world population and resorts to grow vertically around St. Peter Square. The flanking Colonnades become residential towers with terraces overlooking the square as community living room, framing the iconic St. Peter Basilica. As densification swept across the Vatican City, it inevitably changes its horizontal classical scale and turned into a “vertical city”.
