Inadequate personality disorder, also recognized as avoidant personality disorder, manifests as a pattern of personality disturbance marked by an inability to adequately adjust to the various demands of life, encompassing those related to occupation, social interactions, emotional responses, and intellectual challenges. While many individuals with this disorder have had access to typical educational opportunities and may perform within the normal range on intelligence assessments, they often exhibit a pronounced ineffectiveness in their dealings with others. Moreover, they tend to adopt an attitude of casual indifference towards life's challenges.
