The alarm went off at 2:45 am, and in my groggy state, I instinctively hit snooze, nearly drifting back into slumber. After a few minutes, I abruptly sat up in bed, remembering the reason I'd set the alarm in the first place: a rare celestial event was unfolding, and I had to reach my designated spot.
With weary eyes and stifling yawns, I embarked on a 45-minute drive, seeking a much-needed pick-me-up - a steaming hot coffee from McDonald's. Energized, I continued my journey towards the dried-out lake bed I had scouted earlier the day before.
As I began walking on the desolate lake, the stillness of the night enveloped me. There were no visible signs of wind, and the atmosphere exuded a profound sense of peace and serenity.
After a 10-minute walk into the emptiness, the silhouette of a dead tree finally came into view. I swiftly set up my camera, meticulously crafting my composition. Over time, the entire landscape gradually revealed itself, bathed in the radiant glow of the moon illuminating the planets above.
What unfolded before my eyes was truly extraordinary! I had never witnessed anything quite like it - four planets perfectly aligned across the night sky. This alignment enhanced the surreal, otherworldly quality of the scene, instilling a profound sense of ethereal wonder.
The planets, in order from top to bottom, were Saturn, Mars, Venus, and Jupiter.
