Description

The NX-class scope was a scanner display used by Mr. Spock in ‘Star Trek’. Its appearance was designed to resonate with audiences who had seen early radar displays on films and television programmes. Such displays were of low brightness and contrast, and often required operators to use shielding to allow it to be used under normal room brightness levels. There's no indication that Mr. Spock's device lacked the technological means necessary to throw out a bright, colorful image, but nevertheless, it inherited a dedicated shading device.

Of course, the contents of Mr. Spock's hooded scope remain a mystery, until now… this piece reveals the dense, swirly contents of Mr. Spock's scope, in all its technicolor, mathematically-precise glory.

Those blessed with the ability to diverge their eyes at will, useful for observing stereograms, may find additional visual impact by so doing, though the divergence is such that cross-viewing may be simpler.
