Mathematician Frank A. Farris of Santa Clara University found the formula for these mystery curves which have five-fold rotational symmetry. This sketch required a class for complex numbers in order to implement the formula in JavaScript. The features A, B, C, and D are actually parameters for a function which determines the design.
