John Hughes might be the only filmmaker in those days who really understood teens. The problems faced by high school and college kids might seem petty for adults, but are actually a huge deal for them and Hughes portrays it beautifully through this movie. At the start of the day, none of them knew or cared about each other since they were so different, but by the end they knew that even if this friendship lasted for just a day, it was worth it as they all badly needed this. I wish teens from this generation were familiar with his work. This will forever be one of his masterpieces and a classic.
