Malay tapirs have the characteristics of many animals mixed in one. It has a long nose that sticks out like an elephant's trunk. The appearance resembles a pig with long legs. It has a short bear-like tail and rhinoceros-like hooves. Malayan tapirs have very poor eyesight, making them rely greatly on their excellent sense of smell and hearing to go about in their everyday lives.
