Description
The human body needs sugar. Once ingested, the body converts sugar into glucose which is then turned into energy. However, there is a catch. Sugar is addictive. Additionally, processed foods containing sugar provide zero nutritional value. In excessive amounts sugar can lead to health problems. Food makers know we are vulnerable to craving it so they make sugar readily available at low prices.
The brain is also vulnerable to another kind of sweetness. A sweetness found online. Likes. The digital equivalent of sugar. Likes affect the brain in a similar way. So likes can become addictive. Likes exploit our desire for connection and belonging—by design.
Delight with knowledge and intention.
