Description
Every afternoon in the summer, groups of wild horses relocate to the banks of the Salt River. Last year, I spent a few weeks in the area photographing them, and observing their dynamics and energy as they congregated around the water. Almost every evening as the sunset would get closer to setting, a few of the males would begin to get antsy, splashing water or even confronting each other. I learned that these displays of action are almost always designed to show off for the females of the heard. This image was the best representation of their n behavior, and one of my favorite captures of these beautiful animals in general.
