A. Urusov's tenement building, located on the Arbat in Moscow, is a three-story building combining elements of different styles in its architectural solutions, with some predominance of neoclassicism and the Russian style, very popular in the early 19th century, when the house was built.
For a long time the house belonged to A. I. Urusov, a well-known Moscow lawyer who wanted, as they say nowadays, to expand his business. After his death, restoration work was carried out, boiling down to some minor additions. The house got its present appearance in 1898, when the facade was changed according to the design of architect S. Kroshechkin. In 2006 there was another reconstruction, which was of a restorative nature only - the historical appearance of the building was not changed.
At present the first floor is occupied by several stores, and the rest of the building has luxury apartments with underground parking.
