Concept : This piece of art attempts to emulate the birth and death of corals in an effort to showcase the beauty of the natural world, but also to call for reflection on the imminent destruction of the entire ecosystem. Perhaps in the distant future, people will only remember that something called coral existed because they saw it in photos, or on an NFT page, or an AI prompt, existing only in the collective memory of humanity.

Technical :

• P5.js is used for the particle system, which spawns a particle that, each time it dies, spawns 2 other particles. -GLSL shaders are used to process the background copy of the particles, the noisy texture, and the "wiggle" movement to create a water-like effect.

• Click anywhere to spawn a new particle system.

Variations : -Sometimes you may get a version with a more pronounced noisy effect. -The amount of wiggle effect can vary. -The behavior of the particles can change with each edition, sometimes exhibiting more or less noise and having longer or shorter lifespans.
