Zhannet Podobed is an artist whose practice explores the relationship between ecology, human perception, psychology, and technological systems. Working at the intersection of organic processes and computational structures, she investigates digital materiality, posthuman conditions, and the shifting boundaries between natural, artificial, and internal landscapes.
She combines generative methods and AI-assisted coding with physical fine art processes to build abstract, layered environments in which forms emerge, dissolve, and reorganise. Her research draws on ecological theory, posthuman philosophy, psychology, and media studies.She holds an MA in Fine Art: Computational Arts from Camberwell College of Arts, University of the Arts London.In 2025 she took part in Tech, Tea + Exchange, a residency at Tate co-organized with Anthropic, Goldsmiths, and the University of the Arts London as part of Tate's Digital Intimacies Learning Season, where participants used the AI assistant Claude as a creative tool. Reflecting on the residency, she said she hoped “more people start creating tools to support nature and human well-being”.That year she also undertook the Rarible New Media Residency in Lisbon and a residency with the Wait & Hope Foundation's Hope Digital Academy.
In 2025 Podobed made Intertwined Skins: Glitched Sublime, a mixed-media interactive installation combining a hand-crafted silicone fabric sculpture with projection and sound. Onto the skin-like silicone surface she projected imagery merging tree bark, human skin, and digital distortion, built in TouchDesigner to shift in response to a viewer's gesture. The accompanying ambient soundtrack was derived from the biorhythms of trees and plants, captured with PlantWave sensors.She has also used the generative AI tool Juno AI to make works including Mono no Aware, inspired by the impermanence of Japanese cherry blossoms, and Digital Milpa, a layered digital ecosystem inspired by the Mexican milpa and ideas of syncretism.In December 2025 she took part in Jenni Pasanen's Advent Collaboration, a 24-day digital advent calendar of one-of-one artworks minted through Transient Labs, pairing Pasanen with a different guest artist each day.In 2026 she presented the personal-photography works Radiance, Love, Harmony, and Faith in “My Body Language”, Olena Yara's debut curated exhibition at Artverse Gallery in Paris.
